
AI, Sensors & Edge Computing for Intelligent Sports Analytics
As part of its Innovation Hub, Accenture partnered with ImmersionX to develop an AI-powered Soccer Analytics Simulator that demonstrated the convergence of artificial intelligence, sensor technology, edge computing, and immersive visualization. Designed as an innovation showcase rather than a conventional football game, the simulator captured real-world physical actions and transformed them into meaningful digital insights through connected technologies. The experience showcased how intelligent sports training can be powered by real-time analytics while highlighting enterprise applications that extend far beyond the field.
ImmersionX designed and developed a fully integrated Soccer Analytics Simulator that combined physical gameplay with real-time data capture, AI-powered performance analytics, and immersive visualization. Visitors recreated iconic FIFA World Cup penalty shootout scenarios by selecting historic moments through an interactive tablet before taking a real penalty kick using a UWB sensor-enabled football. Every shot was instantly tracked, processed through an edge computing architecture, and recreated inside a Unity-powered immersive stadium, where AI analysed the ball's trajectory, speed, accuracy, and placement against historical match data. Cloud-connected analytics generated live performance insights, while projection-based visualization delivered an engaging, life-sized soccer simulation that seamlessly integrated hardware, software, AI models, sensors, and immersive content into a single connected experience.
More than an immersive Soccer Analytics Simulator, the experience demonstrated the power of connected intelligence. By combining real-time sensor tracking, AI analytics, immersive visualization, and cloud-based data processing, the platform transformed physical movement into actionable insights. While showcased through football, the same technology framework can be applied across manufacturing, logistics, workforce training, predictive analytics, digital twin ecosystems, and other data-driven environments. The project reinforced ImmersionX's expertise in designing intelligent, immersive experiences that simplify complex enterprise technologies while creating engaging innovation showcases for clients, partners, and global visitors.
